Commercial Intrusion
Detection & Monitoring

Altora installs, takes over, and monitors commercial intrusion systems across California. We assume service on existing burglar alarm panels, add video verification to cut false dispatches, and deploy DMP XR-Series panels that combine fire, intrusion, and access on one account.

Can Altora take over and monitor an existing burglar alarm?

Yes. Most commercial burglar alarm panels can be taken over as-is. We inspect the panel and devices, take over programming, and cut the account to our UL-listed central station — usually in a single visit, with no equipment replacement.

The work is straightforward: confirm the panel type and firmware, recover or reset installer programming where the prior dealer locked it, walk-test every zone, update user codes and the responsible-party call list, program the new receiver and account number, and verify each signal type to the central station before the account goes live. Where a panel is locked and unsupported, or still dialing out over a copper line, we quote a replacement panel and a dual-path communicator instead of fighting old hardware.

  • Panel and device inspection with a written condition report before takeover
  • Installer lockout handled; programming recovered or rebuilt
  • Every zone walk-tested, user codes and call list rebuilt with you
  • Signal verification to the UL central station and a new monitoring certificate
  • Replacement quoted only where the panel is locked, unsupported, or POTS-dependent

What is video-verified intrusion detection?

Video verification pairs each alarm zone with a camera so the monitoring center sees what triggered the alarm before calling police. A confirmed intruder is dispatched as a crime in progress; a cart blown against a door is handled without a police run.

This matters commercially for two reasons. Unverified burglar alarms are low-priority in most California jurisdictions and repeat false dispatches carry municipal fines and permit penalties. Verified alarms are escalated. The same clips also tell you and the operator exactly what happened — whether it was a break-in attempt, an employee at the wrong hour, or a device that needs service — so the system gets tuned instead of ignored.

  • Alarm event triggers a short clip from the associated camera, delivered with the signal
  • Monitoring operators confirm or dismiss the event before dispatch
  • Higher police priority on verified events; fewer false-dispatch fines
  • Works with new cameras or an existing IP video system

What can DMP XR-Series panels do for combination fire and intrusion?

The DMP XR-Series runs commercial fire, intrusion, and access control on one panel, one communication path, and one monitored account — instead of separate systems with separate keypads, communicators, and monthly line charges.

Practically, that means a manager arms the building and the fire system reports on the same panel, doors can be tied to arming and disarming, and areas can be partitioned so a tenant or shift arms only its own space. Built-in dual-path cellular and network communication satisfies fire reporting requirements without POTS lines, and the panel supports the multi-area partitioning and user-level reporting that multi-tenant and multi-site operators need. Altora is an Authorized DMP Dealer and programs and services these panels directly.

  • One panel for fire, intrusion, and access — one account, one communication path
  • Multi-area partitioning for tenants, shifts, and separate departments
  • Built-in dual-path cellular/network reporting, no copper phone lines required
  • Scheduled arming, open/close reporting, and per-user activity records
