The Compliance Engine (BRYCER)

Altora Security inspects and tests commercial fire alarms, coordinates inspection report filing through The Compliance Engine for participating AHJs, and handles authorized deficiency repairs, retesting and correction documentation.

Inspection → Filing → Correction

Inspection records for participating fire authorities

TCE provides a shared reporting process for third-party inspectors, building owners and participating fire departments. Inspection results, deficient systems and follow-up documentation must match the correct property record.

The Compliance Engine FAQs

What is The Compliance Engine (TCE)?

The Compliance Engine is BRYCER’s web-based inspection-reporting and compliance platform. Participating fire departments and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) use it to receive third-party fire protection inspection reports, track deficiencies and notify property owners of required inspections. TCE is a reporting platform—not the inspecting contractor or the fire authority.

How does Altora coordinate report filing?

Altora confirms the property, fire alarm system and participating AHJ’s reporting requirements before scheduling inspection and testing. We prepare the fire alarm inspection report and coordinate its submission through The Compliance Engine when required by that jurisdiction. We provide the owner or facility manager with the report and filing information. Filing fees, deadlines and any follow-up work are confirmed for the specific property and scope.

What should I do with a deficiency notice?

Send Altora the notice, property address, latest inspection report and the stated deadline. We review the fire alarm deficiencies, identify the corrective work and provide a repair scope. After authorized repairs, we retest affected equipment and document the corrections for the required follow-up report. A report submission does not itself establish AHJ acceptance or close every notice; the fire authority determines the compliance requirements.

What should I do with an overdue inspection notice?

Do not ignore the notice or assume that monitoring replaces an inspection. Contact Altora to confirm the last inspection date, the system involved and the reporting deadline so we can coordinate inspection and filing. If an inspection was already completed, provide the report and filing confirmation so the property record and submission can be checked. Any extension must be approved by the AHJ—not assumed by the contractor.

Does every AHJ require The Compliance Engine?

No. Only participating jurisdictions require reports through The Compliance Engine. The local AHJ determines which systems must be reported, the inspection and testing intervals, accepted report formats, filing deadlines and correction requirements. Altora confirms the applicable fire alarm requirements for your property; another jurisdiction may use a different portal or direct report submission.

Does filing a report replace inspection, repair or retesting?

No. Portal filing documents the inspection results; it does not perform the inspection or correct a failed device. Altora performs the agreed fire alarm inspection and testing, documents deficiencies, completes authorized corrective work and retests as required. Fire alarm scope is confirmed separately from sprinkler, hood suppression or other fire protection systems listed in a property’s notice.
