Commercial UniFi Access Installation

Licensed California installation of UniFi Access controllers, readers, door hardware and PoE infrastructure for commercial properties by Altora Security.

What does a UniFi Access installation include?

Altora designs and installs a commercial door access system around the doors, user workflow and UniFi hardware—not just the reader on the wall.

  • Compatible controllers, readers and credential enrollment.
  • Electric strikes or maglocks selected for the door and permitted use.
  • Door position monitoring and approved request-to-exit devices.

How do you preserve safe exit?

Electronic access must preserve the required means of egress. Altora reviews door type, occupancy, fire rating and local approval requirements before selecting locking hardware.

  • Verify required free egress, emergency release and fire alarm interface.
  • For applicable maglock designs, provide independent power interruption—not only a software unlock.
  • Coordinate door modifications and permits with the appropriate trades and AHJ.

What network infrastructure is required?

UniFi Access needs correctly sized PoE, structured cabling and a supported management environment. Altora’s licensed California installation includes infrastructure assessment and commissioning.

  • Plan switch capacity, PoE budgets, cable routes and power backup.
  • Define administrative access, network segmentation and remote management.
  • Test entry, exit, loss-of-power behavior and credentials at every door.

UniFi Access Installation FAQs

Can UniFi Access work on existing doors?

Often, but the door, frame, closer, latch and existing electrified hardware must be assessed. Fire-rated or specialty doors can require additional coordination.

Do I need an existing UniFi network?

Not necessarily. Altora assesses the supported console, network and PoE infrastructure needed for the proposed Access equipment.

Does UL 294 certification replace local approval?

No. Product certification does not approve a particular door installation. Egress, wiring, fire interfaces and local code requirements still apply.

Can Altora migrate credentials and train administrators?

Yes. The quote can include enrollment planning, user permissions, schedules and administrator handoff. Compatibility of existing credentials is checked first.
